Donor Services of Indiana (DSI) is committed to meeting the region's need for safe, high-quality
musculoskeletal and cardiovascular tissues for transplantation.

At DSI, tissues are placed in a regional resource inventory. Tissues are provided on a first-call,
first-served basis. We also place tissue on consignment so hospitals don't have to maintain a
costly inventory.

Product services coordinators are responsible for maintaining and communicating inventory availability
and projected dates of distribution. Following guidelines of the American Association of Tissue Banks,
DSI participates in resource sharing with other banks across the U.S. and has distributed tissue to
almost every state in the union and many foreign countries. Our goal is to meet all surgery dates with
grafts or to locate tissues for clients from AATB banks.

The product services coordinators distribute tissues and address any questions or concerns regarding
the distribution process. DSI is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week for emergency requests.

Placing an Order

When placing tissue orders, the following information is required:

name of person placing order

hospital name

phone number

specific tissue type and size

surgery date and time

procedure to be performed

surgeon name

patient name

purchase order number

Ordering Osteoarticular Grafts

Osteoarticular grafts and others requiring sizing need
additional information:

operative side (left/right)

desired allograft dimensions

patient's height, weight, age and gender

Patient X-rays are also helpful. If time allows, an X-ray of the
best-matched graft can be sent for the surgeon's review prior to
tissue delivery. A dissection description of the graft detailing
dimensions also can be faxed in advance for review.

Ordering Cardiovascular Tissue

When ordering cardiovascular tissue, it is necessary to provide the
desired valve or conduit diameter and length. A dissection description
of each cardiovascular tissue can be faxed to ensure the graft meets
the surgeon's specifications.

consignment so hospitals don't have
to maintain a costly inventory.
