Donor Services of Indiana recognizes the important role Coroners and their staff play in our
communities of Indiana. We also recognize that they are a vital link to the organ and tissue donation
process. Donor Services of Indiana offers the following resources to all Indiana Coroners:
Educational Programs – Educational sessions are available for every Coroner’s
office as well as for Emergency Responders, Police, Fire and Sherriff’s
Departments and Victim Advocates.
Coroner Referral – As a Coroner for the State of Indiana, you can play a
significant role in helping both grieving families and patients in need of lifesaving,
life-enhancing tissue grafts by notifying Donor Services of Indiana of any deaths
that do not occur in a hospital. This is a great service to those in need of tissue
grafts and to surviving families and friends who would like to choose donation.
Upon contacting us regarding a donor, we will ask you some of the following
questions regarding the potential donor:
- Date of Birth
- Past Medical History
- Last Seen Alive
- Cause of Death
